Message from owner & manager of H. A. Young Contracting, LLC...

Having held and excelled in positions from laborer to superintendent to estimator/project manager, I have gained a broad perspective from every level, of what it takes to get a job done. I offer expert advice and use proven cost effective methods, without sacrificing quality.

Prior to and while attending East Carolina University, I completed field and administrative tasks for large scale commercial contractors dating back to 1995. After graduating from ECU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, I had the opportunity to move to the Northern Outer Banks and work as a Project Manager for a successful and reputable local residential and commercial contractor. Project management highlights included: multiple multi-million dollar condominiums including one with a three-story full service bar and restaurant, numerous half million to million plus custom homes with full amenities, and the renovation of a 6,000 square foot clubhouse and snack bar.

In the spring of 2006 I moved to the Southern Outer Banks and was hired as a Senior Project Manager and North Carolina General Contractor Qualifier for a 69-acre, 111-unit development in Carteret County. Responsibilities included infrastructure oversight, permit procurement, and accountability for all direct costs while simultaneously overseeing building construction. Having successfully passed the North Carolina Contractor's exam in 2003 and keeping a current license during this time, I decided to put it to full time use with the creation of H. A. Young Contracting, LLC in early 2009. Starting my own company has allowed me to place greater emphasis on what I hold true and critical of all project scopes: constant communication with the client, use of superior materials, commitment to daily supervision of the project, and the selective evaluation of necessary subcontractors.
